Bringing the terror and architecture of the Murder Castle to life through immersive 3D storytelling.

For A&E’s Murder Castle, we helped bring H.H. Holmes’ notorious Chicago building to life through a spatially accurate 3D reconstruction. Using historical documents and research, we mapped the interior, torture rooms, hidden passages, and murder implements, then translated that material into a dramatic first-person walkthrough that felt immersive, ominous, and unsettling.

I led the art direction, helped determine what the spaces and details should look like, and worked closely with the 3D team to shape the final footage and environment design.

Project Outcome

Challenge

The challenge was balancing historical accuracy with cinematic storytelling. The environment needed to feel grounded in documented reality while still delivering the mystery, dread, and tension expected from a dramatic television sequence.

Amazing Results

The final piece turned fragmented historical material into a coherent and compelling visual experience. It gave viewers a chilling, spatially believable way to explore one of America’s most infamous crime scenes.
